Raspberry Colour Challenge Week 2 - Happy Birthday

I am really enjoying the colour challenges lately so I thought I would give this one a try too. This card will be given to my good friend Kristina who is turning 30 on Thursday.

I used PTI Dark Choc & Spring Moss cs, ribbon is PTI Spring Moss Swiss Dots, the velvet flowers were trimmed off some Prima Elysee ribbon and finished with tiny rhinestones. The paper flowers beneath were cut with a cuttlebug die. Oh, and the sentiment is from Elzybells (it's hard to tell but I embossed the sentiment).

Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Treats

Well, it's back to work today after a glorious 3 day weekend spent at home crafting and cooking. It's rare to have an entire weekend at home as my son usually has us running all over for hockey, but that's over now and it's another week or so before his spring sports start up. Between work and sports I never seem to have enough time to play myself so I do my best to squeeze it in when I can.

And the only thing I enjoy more than playing in my craft room is playing in my kitchen (although crafting is better for my waist line!!). I like to bake on Sundays so we have goodies through the week, but they don't always last that long! These cinnamon buns were made by special request of my son. The chocolate macaroons weren't a big hit around here so you know what that means...they are headed to the office.

Have a super Monday!

K Werner Colour Inspiration #47

This is the first colour challenge I have ever done other than the Loonie Stampers. This is just a simple card but it gave me a chance to make one of these great lollipop paper flowers I saw on Char's blog and on her friend Kim's blog. So fun.

Colours are PTI Dark Chocolate, Lemon tart, and ribbon is from Walmart.

Thanks for visiting!

ps. It snowed AGAIN...will it ever end?

Button Heart

I must say I love the buttons that Papertrey Ink is now selling. And this new colour, Hibiscus Burst, just may be my favourite to date. I hope you are having a lovely weekend and that it didn't snow (AGAIN!!) where you are.

Happy Friday!

I had a very late night last night so it's a good thing I have today off work. It's Spring break and my son has been spending the last few days with his Auntie and cousins. Hubby was at work so I was left to my own devices. Add a newly received order from PTI and I had the makings for a great evening of crafting!

I completed a few projects which I will post over the weekend but first up is this weeks Loonie Stampers Challenge Card. This card is for my newest nephew, Jace, who was born February 21st and has not yet received a proper card from me. Please visit Charlene's blog to see her card and links to the other Loonie ladies, all made such beautiful cards. I can't believe these girls are up to their 33rd challenge! This week's colours are WONDERFUL together and make me think of spring, which has to get here sooner or later, right? I still have at least a foot of snow in my back yard and 3 feet on either side of my driveway! *Sigh*

Button tree

I added buttons to a chipboard tree top to give this card some dimension. The 5.5" base easily supports the weight of the buttons, but there was no way this would ever fit in an envelope. Instead, I put it in a shadowbox frame which I would love to show you but can't seem to get a half decent pic. Thanks for looking!

Bitty Dots and Loonie Cards

Here are two quick and simple cards I did for the Loonie Stampers Challenges (LSC) #32 & #31. I absolutely love the Papertrey Ink Bitty Dot Basic papers!! Please visit Char's blog to see her LSC creations and links to the other ladies amazing cards.

Shine

I made this card a few week's ago for the Loonie Stamper's Challenge #29, which is a weekly colour challenge issued by my friend Char and a few of her friends. They all do wonders with the weekly colours.

I have always loved this Dr. Seuss poem but can never remember which book it comes from.

It's the middle that counts the most...

I love this line from Hope Floats so when I found this rub-on quote I knew I wanted to do something with it other than put it on a card. I used my Nesties Labels One on some card stock and some Prima crystals in a cheap frame from Ikea to create this little picture.

Not your typical notice board

A few weeks ago my good friend Charlene and I were at Ikea and we picked up some very funky fabric. It was Char's idea to cover a cork board with it. This is my first attempt and I will definitely be doing more of these in the future. I applied the fabric with spray adhesive after painting the border and tucked all edges into the frame using a thin ruler. I love it. The only problem is I don't want to actually pin anything to it!!

Here goes...

I figured since I spend so much time on the computer I might as well give this blogging gig a shot. Who knows if I will stick with it but it seems easy and fun so far.

This is a card I made a while ago using Basic Grey paper, chip stickers and rub-ons. I thought it was a fitting card for a first post... so Hello!
